What is PRP and how does it work?
A revolutionary, non-surgical anti-aging procedure, also called Vampire Facelift. The Vampire Facelift, uses the patient’s own growth factors found in their blood, injected into the face for regrowth of loss or sagging tissue, regenerate and diminish the signs of aging.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein derived from whole blood, centrifuged to removed red blood cells. It has a greater concentration of growth factors than whole blood, and has been used to encourage a brisk healing response.
When PRP Is injected into the damaged area it causes a mild inflammation that triggers the healing cascade. As the platelets organize in the clot they release a number of enzymes to promote healing and tissue responses including attracting stem cells to repair the damaged area.
As a result new collagen begins to develop. As the collagen matures it begins to shrink causing the tightening and strengthening of the damaged area. When treating injured or sun damaged tissue they can induce a remodelling of the tissue to a healthier and younger state*.
When will I see results?
The full procedure takes approximately 1 hr. You will see an immediate response; which will subside and then become more apparent in the weeks following your injection. Generally 2 to 3 treatments are advised, however, more may be indicated for some individuals. Improvements are usually seen after 6 to 12 weeks lasting up to 18 months. Touch up treatment may be done once a year after the initial group of treatments to boost and maintain the results*.
