In the current precarious situation of periodic lockdowns, many of you who regularly undergo non-invasive medical and beauty treatments, such as Botox injections and skin fillers, may not be sure when the next appointment will be possible. So it would be a good idea to take some steps to help you keep the results of your last treatment as long as possible during the quarantine.

Don’t give in to stress

The uncertainty that comes with every lockdown, fears of deteriorating economic conditions, loss of income and jobs, certainly cause great stress to many of us. As difficult as it is not to succumb to stress in these difficult pandemic times, it is important to remember that according to many scientific studies, stress has extremely severe negative consequences for the human body.

If you are used to regularly undergoing beauty treatments, during the lockdown period you are very likely to worry that the inability to follow the usual schedule will lead to a deterioration in your appearance. Resist the temptation to stand constantly in front of the mirror. Try not to frown or grimace unconsciously, as this stimulates your facial muscles and leads to a faster weakening of the effect of fillers or Botox.

Keep an adequate skin care regime

If you do not already have a skin integrity care regime, the time you spend mostly at home during a quarantine period, is a great opportunity to start one. It will help the skin to stay young-looking for longer.

Moisturize your skin regularly with appropriate products and drink enough water to avoid dehydration. Regular cleansing and toning of the skin will also help maintain its good condition.

Maintain optimal zinc levels

Zinc deficiency is common in many people. This not only leads to a weakening of the immune system, but also is not conducive to the results of Botox anti-aging treatments.

According to various studies, Botox responds directly to the level of zinc in the body to such an extent that optimal zinc level can improve the effect of Botox therapy by up to 30%. If you have a zinc deficiency, make sure you take the needed supplements.

Do not expose yourself to the sun unnecessarily

Sun damage to the skin is one of the main causes of wrinkles. As tempting as it is to break your lockdown daily routine with sunbathing or just spending time outside, it is good to keep in mind that wrinkles caused by the sun are not affected by Botox therapy, as they are not a result of the facial muscles.

Always use high-SPF sunscreen, at least for the skin of the face, neck and hands, even on cloudy days.

Stay in touch with your injector

Use the options for online connection with the injector, who administers your regular therapy, to discuss the various options for maintaining its results at home, as well as to plan the continuation of therapy once the crisis is over.

Or use your free time to explore options to start anti-aging treatments with certified practitioners when everything goes back to normal.
