PRP scalp treatment is based on injections – Platelet rich plasma (PRP) and autologous blood injections (ABI) – a medical procedure that takes some of your blood and re-injects it into an affected zone. This procedure is usually used to help the recovery of injured ligaments, joints, muscles, and tendons, but is nowadays increasingly popular as an anti hair loss treatment, as well as for skin rejuvenation and anti-aging therapy, by re-injecting the platelets and plasma back into the scalp.
As part of the Scalp PRP, blood is taken from your arm and then it is mixed with separation gel to separate the platelet rich red blood cells from the blood plasma in a centrifuge machine, where the separation process takes place.
The final product is what we call PRP – platelet rich plasma. This emulsion is then injected into your scalp in order to stimulate hair growth by facilitating the revitalization of the hair follicle.
Scientific researches provides evidences that PRP is an efficient anti hair loss treatment and stimulates healing by releasing growth factors from platelets, released to the weakened area the therapy is applied to.
PRP Scalp Treatments are usually performed for three to four months – once a month – and every three to six months after the end of the initial treatment course, depending on the individual results and response, with first results visible within two to three months after the initial treatment.
